In Texas both our senators voted in opposition to the amnesty bill but .... senator Kay Bailey Hutchison did vote yes in the 1st vote on the second rendering of the bill just as she did in the 1st round and then voted against in the final vote both times.
This type of waffling on such an important issue reeks of tryin to play both sides of the field and appease constituants on both sides of the issue to me. For that reason, eventhough she did vote against it in the final vote, it points up she's NOT the kind of person I want representing me as a Texan and I will help to vote her out in November!
The one thing NO politician is going to want to address in the upcoming campaign season is the immigration issue and their stance on it. The American public must FORCE these people to do so or a lot of incumbents and new legislative members will slip through the election process without stating their views !
I WILL NOT support anyone who wanted to mete out amnesty or American citizenship to the hoards of illegals here
