It's not as popular as it used to be. The US government has to give out large bonuses for people to enlist or re-enlist. They also lowered the standards of getting into the military. Now you can be over 40, unable to pass boot camp and not have a high school diploma. So now you too can go to Iraq even if you're old, infirm, or borderline retarded.
