It is rarely forced upon anyone from birth and not a doctrine in the religious sense. It is a free choice to choose what is beneficial to both yourself and the natural world.

But given a chance you would indeed force it on everyone just like you agree with forcing many other things on everyone like the things I stated above and man many more. You don't want to acknowledge it but you do have a selfriteous attitude which makes you predisposed to forcing your way of life on others.
