If he had been killed immediately then the world would stop trying to combat terrorism and someone else would take over Al Qaeda and nothing would have changed. We have had 5 years of destroying and taking apart Al Qaeda to make them less effective. Bin Ladin will not live forever and as long as he has no effective organization to bring terror on anyone then he will be powerless until the day he dies. Like it or not, but as long as he lives people around the world will continue to fight terrorism.
