But you can be prosecuted for what you say to the media even if not under oath.
Lying to the american public while in the capacity of your job about matters that concern responsbilities of your job are actionable by law enforcement.
anyone who lies to congress, in official documents, and speaking to the media while performing their job for the purpose of misleading the american people are subject to legal scrutiny.
