If we left the middle east to it's own now they would soon have nuclear weapons and still would not stop spreading their killings around the world. Think about it, these organizations prey on the downtrodden and weak people with no hope for a good future. If freedom were to take hold and spread in that region they would have no one to join their little bands then they would lose everything. It is for this reason they will continue their fight regardless of anything we do or don't do. Anyone who thinks they would stop needs to have their head examined.
