Terrorists use overwhelming force and surprise to generate shock, terror and public attention. Their goals are incremental or revolutionary societal changes.
To anyone who thinks that terrorists will "just leave us alone" if we stay out of the Middle East -- take an anti-terrorism course sometime and stop talking out of your ass.
