Anonymous@26644 The German pilot is known in my travels .He was still flying a ME-108,built after the war in France.I saw it flying at an airshow in Abbotsford,B.C.,Canada.The storey sounds good the way it is but,I heard the aircraft he escorted towards England was a B-17 bomber.It had the hell shot out of it and 1 engine was smoking.The gunners were dead or with inoperable weapons.You can bet any one of them would of shot at the German if they could of.The bomber had just recently dropped a load on a city and would of been repaired so it could do it again.The German pilot did not do his duty and probably helped cause more German civilian deaths. My English and Finish-Canadian friends who spent time with the Canadian army in the 1970s avoided the guy after they heard what he did.Could you trust a guy like that?
