However, that does not mean that the US should use the US military to crush an anthill.
Tough and smart diplomacy is what is called for now. However, the Bush adminsitration has screwed the US reputation for decades with the cowboy actions in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Whenever you hear politicians say "We don't negotiate with terrorists", you should cringe. What it really means is "We don't want to negotiate in the light of day with terrorists" because they are using the event for political reasons. Every time the Reagan admin said this they were secretly negotiating with terrorists.
How do you think the 50 hostages held in Iran came home ? Negotiating with "socalled" terrorists.
