It's not a matter of something dying for our nourishment. It's a matter of respect. Battery farm chickens are treated brutally while alive. So are pigs for that matter. Vile cruelness.

For that matter, the vegetables that you (likely) eat, that is - if you actually eat any vegetables at all, are probably sprayed with any number of insecticide and fertilizer, and they are largely devoid of the sorts of nutrients that humans need.
