"Looks like the "glass 1/2 empty" perspective"....this whole concept has been distorted by the woolly-minded who think it's an indication of optimism or pessimism. Quite simply, if a glass is in the process of being filled, at the half-way mark it's half-full; if it's being drunk, it's half-empty at the same point. Whichever way, it's half a glassful.
