...to occupation. Which is what we are doing, so that we can protect corporate oil investments in western Asia, the Caspian basin, as well as installing new pipelines through Afghanistan and Turkey.
If you still believe that propaganda BS about "WMD's", or "democracy", or "removing a dictator", you should try not taking your meds for awhile.
Interesting parallel with Germany and Japan though: 60 years after WWII and the USA =still= has major bases in those countries.
How much you want to bet we are going to keep major bases in Iraq operational for as long as we possibly can? I bet we will.
