100204, the answer is in a previous comment. Surely the implication is that the incorrect spelling is deliberate and that only the pedant (ped-ant?) who stepped in to correct it would be trapped?
The joke is clearly much too subtle for those who rush to comment without thinking it through; 81187 may be abrasive but perhaps he/she has a point.
