This sign is on the road into Mission Beach the area hit by last weeks cyclone
Cassowaries are an endangered flightless bird, they have large spikes on their ankles and have been known to gut a man in one swipe.
You are told when bushwalking there to not run from one, just take off your backpack and cover your stomach/genital area
