you may only subdue an opponent by use of his own energy if you experience the origin of his energy.if his energy is hidden from sight, his momentum must be diverted to avoid total impact, even a slight impact can be absorbed to be recoiled into your reaction. a full impact can only be answered by a full retaliation, thus resulting in an accumulation of your own power within.
