Saddams military was about 10,000. The other people in uniform are currently employed by the US-Iraqi occupiers as the Iraqi security force.

Most of the current Iraqi security force are militia groups formed by shia outside of any structure. That is why when the US leaves the iraqi government will be overthrown quickly.

The Bush administration tricked the american public. They have employed most of the republican guard (the group that handed their weapons over to us without a fight back in 91) and Baathist Saddam supporters.

Actually there is a lot one can do to stifle this president. Putting his VP, VP chief of staff, and his main advisor in jail. That really undercuts anything a president could do.
