There is this common misconception prevelant in America today that suggests that those who become officers of the law do so because they seek a kind of power deprived from them earlier in life. The truth is that men and women become police officers because they want to serve and protect the community they live in, not because they get off on punishing people. Nothing is stopping a policeman from throwing down his badge and walking away from this job as was evidenced in New Orleans. When shit really went down, there were officers who simply walked off the job and then some who committed suicide. When the cops leave in the middle of a crisis and your city falls to ruins, you will wish that they had stayed I wish people would stop with this juvenile attitude towards Law enforcement.
