I think the concept piece is more about "original sin". I.E., If you've ever been mad enough to think about doing it, from a metaphysical standpoint most religions consider it a done deal even if no blood spills.
But at least if it stays in your mind, you don't spend time in jail trying not to be Tyrone's dance partner. Which is a plus. At least for most of us.
