It is a terribly sad situation to be sure. I do find it not just odd but quite unsettleing that virtually all branches on all levels are bringing thier business to a screeching halt to to attempt to "save" one person who has existed in a vegitative state for over 15 years while at the same time thousands of fully functional people (including children) die every day who might have had a chance if they had access to proper medical care.

Folks, the sad truth is Terri died 15 years ago. Her body has been kept "alive" since 1990. This whole episode is far more about political posturing and media ratings over the importance of whether one woman is let go.

Dosen't anyone find it just a wee bit odd and hypocritical that most of the people making such a big show out of keeping terri "alive" are so religious. Why are they afraid and sad of letting Terri go to meet her maker? It makes no sense. People die...that is reality.

P.S. While there is much I would/could write about the legal and governmental aspects of this situation, I just don't have time right now. But for you, George W. Bush and your fans...I will now hold you responsible for halting whatever you are doing and working to save ANYONE and EVERYONE in the United States (yes even black and brown people) who might die if not for a medical procedure that is not forthcoming. You have now established a precident: The "culture of life" trumps all. So get to it. Excuses will not be accepted...if it is applies to a woman who has been virtually brain-dead for 15 years, then it applies to ALL. Any deviation from this principle will render you and yours as absolute hypocrites forever. Get ready for the non-stop prayer vigils, media exposure for the horribly diseased and dying. You made your bed now lie in it.

If that sound insincere, cruel or cynical then why??? is all I can ask. All must be saved no matter what the costs or legal ramifications. I am only going by his supposed values. I now fully expect...no demand that every seriously ill or injured child to have his or her fate be dealt with PERSONALLY by all branches of the federal government. Anything less makes a liar and a hypocrite out of all who have worked so hard on behalf of this poor, exploited soul: Terri Schiavo.

Hey, they set the standard, not me. We must hold them to it.
