I first read the Trilogy about 35 years ago, and still have my original hard-bound 2nd edition box set of all 3 Lord of the Ring books, plus the Silmarilion (spelling?). This posting is absolutely fucking hilarious!!! I love the sequence of the pictures, especially when everybody busts him for being so damn stupid. I laughed until I almost fell out of my chair. I Emailed it to a lot of people.

National Lampoon Press (when all the original writers of Saturday Night Live and Animal House were still in college) wrote a really cool parody in a paperback called "Bored of the Rings". It's still available, but a bit hard to find. Well worth the search, though if you're not an Ameriican (it spoofs a lot of American period icons) 'child of the sixties' who imbibed copious amounts of mind-altering substances, it may be hard to relate to....
