"What is the blue ray in the center of the picture? Lightning???"
"Lightning can travel many paths, including from the ground to the sky. I'm not an expert, but I've saw on TV that most lightning occurs that way."
"Just before lighting strikes, electrons from the target leap up to meet the strike. However, there doesn't look like a strike is anywhere near the blue ray. Spooky."
" the blue one maybe because it come from the water, i guess it more powerful than the white one."
"Could the blue ray be from the Camera / film? The ray itself look way less blue when its out of the landscape."
"There is definately a reflection in the water, so that blue ray is for real. Very strange..."

You're all stupid. Shut up. Lightning 'strikes' from the ground up because the clouds are positively charged and electrons flow negative to positive. The blu ray is one of the potential paths the lightning could have taken, called a 'leader', but it evidently found a path through the air that offered less resistance. Never may any of you try to explain anything again.
