Create a new category or link entitled PURGATORY. When a moderator sees a pic posted that he does not approve of, instead of simply deleting it, he would only be able to move it to purgatory. Upon being sent to purgatory a pic could still be viewed for a limited time, giving people a chance to voice their opinions and/or vote on whether or not the pic should be reinstated in the gallery or deleted.
Pics sent to purgatory should include a notation of who sent it there and why.

This is a good idea but would require some additional code. The good thing is that the admins are unix system guys but the bad news is they have full time jobs.
If people used the forum thread that once existed (started by me and delted by...) then moderators can still get to offensive images in a timely manner. It also enables discussion.
I was majorly pissed off when the Kari Byron image was removed. That required admin intervention. Then there was the "One in the pink" but it could not be fully recovered. All moderators have made mistakes but these were hate crimes, perpertrated by...
I deleted some of PJ's nude art (months ago), not because I thought it was bad but I was just in auto pilot but I managed to find it and restore it after he complained in the forum.
Pergatory would work but I might start a new thread for image pulling and see if that works. Any unrelated comments in that thread would be deleted so it doesn't become 100 pages of arguments.
Currently I am still gunning for the sissy but unless one of mine go missing I won't be deleting her stuff anymore (got my arse kicked by Dark).

Pulse, DarkKlown, Fossil Digger, ShaDEz, Temuchin....

I was hoping to get your opinions on my idea...
other than the obvious, which woberto has pointed out, and I had already realised, that it would mean more work for admins, writing the code...

...I suppose it could be called 'limbo', or 'questionable' instead of purgatory...

if i understand the deal correctly, if we delete things they are in limbo to be determined by P & DK. but if we switch them they go to porn.
although in my last life i accidentally switched 1 or 2, and could not for the life of me find them. i can't remember who found them or how, but they were restored by a mod. and not P or DK. i think it was woberto. I would like to know where they go when switched. i figured they would go to the beginning or the end, but found out this wasn't the case.

This was agreat site back in the days when good original stuff was posted. Now we have the same picture being posted hours apart (kids with paint). Some poster just seem to go to google type in funny and post what ever pictures they come up with. Very lame.
I think when an image is deleted the spot where it was should stay as an X and the deleter must put a reason why it was deleted. Why not also leave the deleted picture in a deleted file or the users collection?
As with most good web based forums this site is being ruined by power hungry controllers with different views on how the site should work. As someone else said, if you wouldn't open it in front of your boss/mother/child don't let it be here.
Do we really need a pic of a saggy titted woman sitting in a pool posted 3 times?

FD & PJ the idea of having images go into purgatory rather than the recycle bin is excellent. How this is done is hard to say because there are just too many possible modifications to consider.
Due to the nature of this MySQL database images that are moved lose their ID and therefore links and comments get lost too. However the title will remain and can be searched for.
When moderating began, ShaDez spent a lot of time removing porn from here but I spent shitloads of time moving images BACK FROM the porn site to here. That is why the "Top List" changed to reflect he true masters of this site, frank, elmerfudd, stuy & fishbag. This upset some people's standing in the Top List but I thought it was necessary because when the sites split, Pulse & DK were too lazy to separate the porn properly.

And, if people used the rating properly (mods that is) you could set this as your plus613 address and you would only see "Safe" images.
Try it out. I'm not sure of the distinction but I asssume it eliminates the Erotic/Adult category.

pro junior get over it seriously. The moderating is barely noticeable..all fucked up images end up in porn 613 so just satisfy your urges there...ITS ONE CLICK AWAY. there still plenty of seed and freedom on plus613...take whitetrashes entire catalog haha.

that's true about the images losing their ratings and comments. but P & DK can retrieve most of that stuff.

the purgatory idea is good if it takes an hour or less to do, but hey you know how these guys operate, they don't have the time to fuck with stuff.
if someone offered their services to make changes like that it might get done. don't hold your breath....:~}

katalyst,
you missed my point...
I am not currently having a problem with my pics being deleted, or porn pics being moved, etc....
I am just tired of all the anger and finger pointing and name calling and well...shenanigans...
I am merely trying to offer a suggestion to prevent these things from happening any longer...

it is a well known fact that the current mods have very different opinions of what belongs here and what doesnt, so rather than pics just disappearing and then having big arguments in the forums about it, *all the while not being able to see the image in question*, I thought maybe it was time for a change...

temuchin and i have agreed on several levels. one being no pic will be deleted for 2 weeks from the post date giving plenty of time for people to voice their opinions and the pic in one of these forums. this should solve any whimpering.

come on fossil, you don't honestly believe that do you?
that still doesnt solve the problem of knowing who did what or why...

just in the last couple of days I have noticed pics disappearing that were no worse than some that are still here...
the moderating is too inconsistant and that creates controversy, which in my opinion, takes away the fun of this site...

also, please try to understand that because someone expresses an opinion that is different than yours that it does not mean they are whimpering...

btw, where do you see a 'post date' listed?
Posted by: woberto [x] - (67.168.225.---)
Date: July 20, 2006 07:33AM
Unfortunately you won't get a date that an image was posted. It is doable but I guess you just add it to the UI forum posts.
If an image is worth it's effort then someone will comment that same day, leaving a date stamp. That's the best you'll get for now.
The whole site is chronological, except for images that have been moved because they search for a gap or available image number and take that.

Actually it's probably extremely easy for us to put up when an image was posted. It's just in a standard posix timestamp, which is no different to forum or image comments. It's just converted.

I like the idea, the problem being that the whole point of having somebody go through the images and help us keep on top of the bad ones is to remove them from view. For example, on the porn site, I don't want people to delete kiddy porn, and all it does is put it in a special "this is too dodgy for the site, but come have a look at it here".

The problem being, plus/porn share their codebase. What happens to one effectively happens to the other.

We originally considered when a moderator deleted an image myself, revert or dk would manually inspect them, say at the end of the week, but to be honest.. I just haven't got any time. My girlfriend has moved in lately, my job is a nightmare at the moment, and real life commitments are just destroying any time I have to look at the site. I probably have only seen a handful of the last 10,000 images uploaded.

DK on the other hand is a lazy fucker, who really should be adding some of the new ideas he's had for a year to the site. Otherwise, I think this is a great idea, but if there was to be peer reviews of deleted images I think it's better off that it's myself or dk rather than 'the general public'.

As for the rest of it, you've all clearly spent too much time on here if you know in fairly good detail how the site works, ie image numbers, how things are moved etc. I'm impressed smiling smiley

And yes, the "safe" category just omits the erotica labelled images. Unfortunately, there's a pack of retards that vote porn images as .. non porn (not that there's many here anymore) and good stuff as erotic/adult. It's not funny, it's immature, and if you do it again I'm gonna send darkklown around to hump your leg. We know where you live.

Finally, woberto - how did you know we were too lazy to split the sites properly? smiling smiley

O.K. so the "time posted" is not visible, but most pics get a comment w/i a few days and i think that will be the "stamp". i think the questionable pics are the ones that the "oh yeah lemme = shoot = that in the face" people jump all over. it should be obvious.
i have deleted 1 pic only in the new term ( a guy with 1/2 his head blown off). disgusting as hell. i have only had the stick for 1 freakin day! Jesus. i've only had the time to smite the spammers from the forums.

the whimpering is entertainment for most people, but as you say it's the beauty of the site. i have never disregarded anyones opinion, i encourage them, but the really outrageous ones (beast for example) i have to publicly humiliate. it's my nature, sorry...:~}

as for the categorization of pics, i don't think that we can do much about that, except maybe to have a forum topic for people to report outrageous choices. then someone can doctor the choice to avoid them being in the wrong place, or deleted, or whatever. i know i don't want DK humpin' my leg!

lol Pulse, I think you nailed it, 'we've all clearly spent too much time on here'

I am moving to a new house today and being the lazy procrastinator that I am, I waited until yesterday to set up the cable/phone/ internet at the new place. as a result of waiting until the last minute I will not have everything up and running there for about a week...see you all then...
