but then when I click on 'order by newest comment', they all disappear...

Seems we have a power struggle happening and when it gets to the removal of good pictures it has gone too far

Maybe we should remove the Erotic/Adult category altogether and change the Add Image definition to declare no nudity at all?
I mean, I can't imagine the people viewing porn613 complaining about bikini's, bodypaint, tits & ass being posted there among the pee pee's and wee wee's.

Every other pic hosting site I've seen requires that you create and account in order to post. Why should Plus be any different?

For the simple fact we don't want to be like every other website =D

The whole purpose of this site is to be as open and free as possible. Forcing people to make up fictitious account details isn't really in line with that. I also find it funny that triton says he hates anonymous postings, yet he's not logged in.

DK - I hear you. It *is* as open and free as possible, and thanks for that. I would think that people participating here on a regular basis would actually *want* to be identifiable in some form or another. It makes it easier to communicate with a handle rather than a number. Their choice. Nevermind, it's fine as it is and I think you and Pulse are doing it right, or as right as humanly possible.

I've a suggestion: an enlarged category list. I have folders of macro and micro images, sample here:

[www.plus613.net]

and I could upload them under their category. Also, Architecture, as I have a lot of those, and a lot of posts on the site should come under Politics, with a separate category for US Politics, as every site that allows political images is swamped with those.

Are categories really used by anybody these days? Almost nobody selects one on upload, and a simply spectacular amount are wrong because people vote on them and .. I dunno. It just never really flew.

I can look into what's required to add another 2, maybe 3; but given it's done by a drop down list, we can never really narrow it down much further than that. I certainly wouldn't be looking at eg macro and micro photography split, as an example. Given (almost) everything here is a photograph, I don't think there's any real requirement to break that down further than their subject matter, rather than photography style.

I've mentioned in another post that the site is unlikely to ever receive another code update. The time simply isn't there anymore, and I really only keep it online for the regulars which I like hanging around. If anybody else uses it, then great.

That's why the porn site was killed; effectively to save time, hassle and money. Without it, the required hosting footprint is dramatically less than it was. The site was only ever a hobby, it was something a couple of guys did to learn some code.

to date I've uploaded 3789 images and I'm fairly certain that I've never selected a category at upload..
