Now all the gun control bills are going to come out and the government is going to blame the guns for what happened while they try to take our guns away. Taking guns away from law abiding citizens won't do a thing to prevent this from happening. Gun laws only affect law abiding citizens and criminals or crazies don't care about the laws.

Maybe if we had open carry laws, it might help if many people were visibly armed in the school. If all the teachers were trained and armed then the shooter might rethink his action and go after the teachers first giving the other teachers a chance to take him out before he can shoot children.given a choice of losing teachers or children I am sure we would rather lose teachers.

It would be so easy to place armed security in plain clothes in all our schools which might mitigate these kind of occurrences. It won't prevent them from happening but it might reduce the amount of dead or injured.

Go sell some more guns JG, especially to the Chinese, they need guns. They have to use knives when they attack children in schools over there.

we do not sell many guns to foreign countries, we sell things like f-16s to the Muslim Brotherhood...the U.N. will be needing things like this when O'fuckhead signs the gun treaty with them to TAKE our Constitutional freedoms by force.

I wouldn't be surprised if the administration proposes creating a School Security Administration run by Homeland Security similar to the Transportation Security Administration - armed guards in all the schools wearing SS insignia.

Well, whatever, better not miss because I do return fire and I seldom miss.

There may be nothing that can protect schools from things like this because the shooters all seem to want to die and just like suicide bombers these acts are hard to defend against. Even if these guys didn't have guns available they would use something else. Bombs are easy to build and really cheap, tons of people have sword collections, even crossbows can be used. People with the mindset to destroy themselves and others will find a way to do it even if they don't have anything available but a car.

Well, whatever, you would be wrong. I was in the military during the Vietnam war. You probably never even served. Also anyone in the world can have an opinion and whether we agree with them or not they do have the right to voice them here.

Well Odamna may be walking the tight rope right now but he will come down heavy on the liberal side before long and work even harder to remove all our guns.

You said you were in the Navy (as was I) during Viet Nam and you claim to have seen action. I saw action too but it was flight deck action because I was an AT3, not direct armed conflict action, and I am thankful for that choice. What were you and what did you do? I have known some sailors who saw in country action but they are fairly rare.

In North America legally blind at it's very best is being able to see an object at 20 feet with corrective lenses. So, whoever wants to shoot JG stand over 20 feet away. Unless he's not wearing his coke bottle bottom glasses and then you can probably just walk up and slap him instead.

Would it have to be sawed off? Those are restricted firearms in Arkansas, you know. There are taxes and registration and a waiting period. Who knows? In the future there may be a mental health evaluation too. It's not too hard to see where this all leads. "Welcome to the Future Fair; a fair for all and no fair to anybody!"

shotguns do not need to be registered. and you cannot legally buy a sawed off version, you must "convert" it yourself, or buy one under the table / black market.

Yes I was in the Navy but never saw in country action in Vietnam. What happened was during the war between Greece and Turkey and it is something I don't talk about.

Yes I am legally blind but it is my peripheral vision not my forward vision. My forward vision is perfectly normal and I only need glasses to read like most people in their 60s. Therefore I have no problem shooting and can compensate for my peripheral by looking all around. My peripheral is below 15 degrees either side of fixation which qualifies for legally blind.

Dorry FD but shotguns can be sawed off, at least in Arkansas, as long as the barrel length is not shorter than 12 inches and the overall length in no shorter than 26 inches. Those which meet the requirements can also be sold here by private individuals with no paper work as long as it was owned by the individual for personal use. I have had some and sold them in the past one I had was a little too short so I had to destroy the barrel and sold the stock. There are many states which allow sawed offs as long as they meet requirements and American Guns on TV which is in Colorado has built sawed offs for people on air.

fossil: America doesn't export many guns? lolol sorry son the reason guns will never be banned in america is that it's the world largest exporter of guns. You guys put out 8,641,000,000 $USD in 2010 alone. That's alot of zeros.

With the average american being valued at 4,000,000 $USD you would need a 9/11 every year via gun attack to even allow serious talk about removing guns. The argument 'criminals don't follow the law, they will keep guns if everyone else bans them' is totally valid and impossible to argue against.

But make no mistake, it's all bullshit, the reason america has guns is because it's good business. Nothing to do with safety or you being able to defend yourself, it's fear mongering pure and simple. Everyone's a terrorist didn't you know, here quick buy a gun from me and sleep safely at night.

DK, i think that you could be confusing arms dealers from the U.S. vs. the U.S. government. sure we sell guns, but things like F-16s more than overshadow a few hundred thousand AKs

Well Fossil in Arkansas at least I don't think there has been and relaxing of any ban on sawed offs, the law has always been according to length. My research before selling one a couple of years ago seemed to indicate the length was national and not just Arkansas. 14 in. barrel with 26 in. overall length is still pretty long and the same length as those carried by the police in their cars.
