Hey, I bet they'd work for that but that would just make 'em a dual purpose
tool. These actually have a very specific use/purpose that relates to
fabrication work

I was thinking they look they might be for some sort of cable...the round
nutcracker part I first thought looked like a twist off bottle opener tool for
people with weak grip...fabrication...somehow used for de-burring??

Ding, ding, ding .... we have a winner! I guess that's close enough to call
it. They're actually mig welding pliers.
PJ, the large opening beneath the center of the tool is for removing the outer
part of the nozzle for cleaning and the one above the center is for removing the
wire feed tip. There's also a cutter for cutting the welding wire and the
grooved jaws at the tip are for grabbing/pulling the wire, so you weren't all
that far off
