Indeed an excellent series of pics.

Shame how SOME PEOPLE will say things like the comments here and not have voted.

I know this because I am the first one to vote.

They are awesome and I'd really like to see more pics like this series here so I gave them all 5s.
(Except for the grass picture because it's the wrong kind of grass.)

I was unaware it was required to vote on a pic to derive enjoyment from it. I'm an equal opportunity non-voter as I don't vote on any images ... ever.

I suppose I should stress that this is only my opinion but, while there were some nice scenes in Frank's recently uploaded pics, there was too much HDR processing in there for my liking.

It's not my fall you should be waiting to rejoice about deriving pleasure from another's misery.

Since you have clearly expressed your beliefs (or lack of), it's your own eventual downfall that should be concerning you. hot smiley

You really wanna go there again lex?

My soul and all that is me except for memories held by others still here will be gone when I head off for my dirt nap. I figure the same happens for you, but on that I feel sure we disagree.

While I can't change your mind about this, nor you mine, what difference does that truly make? Since neither of us can offer absolute proof, can either position truly logically feel 100% sure of their correctness?

I guess the real question is: Does disagreement on religion require adversarial condemnation and self righteousness ?

I was taught by a master that religion, politics and pizza toppings were a bitch to discuss but COULD be debated rock

Yeah well the way I see it, if you're right and we just cease to exist, doesn't matter what we do, it all ends, over and done with....so very bleak. If that is the case then nothing we believed mattered so I guess I can see why you are how you are if that is what you think happens.

However if you just somehow happen to have it wrong, and I for some slim chance, however infinitesimle it might seem to you just happen to have things right then you are basically screwed dude.

That's all I am saying. smileys with beer

that's a weak defense. if your god is a merciful/forgiving god.....then nobody is screwed.

"If there were no god, we would need to create one" This simple statement says it all for me.

Most religions promise some sort of afterlife which, to my thinking, is a creation fostered to appease mans desire to believe there is more to life than what we know in the time we're here and ... belief in an afterlife gives followers exactly that. I feel this only truly appeals to a sense of vanity that is an integral part of mankinds makeup and is actually detrimental to personal progressions that could be realized otherwise.

Not putting faith in this ideology of an afterlife doesn't appear bleak to me. What that leads me to feel is that each moment is all the more precious as this is all we really have anyway. Quite honestly we'd all be better off in focusing on the assured here and now than on some idea that there's something else that is not an assured reality that "might" occur. Or to look at it another way, how much energy and time is expended by believers in pondering the afterlife and how that might play out personally once their time is ended that could be more productively utilized in instead pondering the life they are currently living and how to improve that instead?

It seems to me that every follower of every religion that embraces an afterlife HAS to believe that at their lifes end this belief instantly becomes the saving grace for their salvation throughout the remainder of eternity, and ... most religions will also take that idea a step further and state that disbelief in THEIR god also in turn invalidates all good works, righteous living etc. and doom those who believe in any other version of "god" and certainly disbelievers, to eternity in some miserable existence.

If one espouses and places faith in all the above I am constantly confounded in how these actions and eternal consequences can be the results of a god showing his capacities for love, forgiveness and kindness to his creations. This seems totally incongruous, not to mention an exhibition of unrealistic expectations to me.

If you feel like hedging your bet and believe in whatever deity suits you, more power to ya. I'll just be over here doin it my way and IF I'm wrong about it all at least there won't be any cherries involved ..... but I'll still accept the risk as the most logical path winking
