"There are some -- sometimes in our party -- who mistake war for defense. If you don't believe in eternal and perpetual war doesn't mean you don't believe in a strong national defense."

Common sense would seemingly dictate that any country continually meddling in the affairs of other countries and/or foisting their policies/views/political positions on foreign sovereign nations would naturally incur the rancor of their citizenry and their governing bodies. Then when you add in military force and foreign military and civilian injuries and deaths to the equation, common sense again would dictate that a growing list of enemies would be the natural outcome of such actions.

Many folks say we must undertake these actions abroad to insure our safety at home, yet how can the creation of an ever growing list of enemies be deemed a sane method for the safety of our people abroad or at home?

Having said this before, it still bears repeating: If ANY foreign govt. were to attempt occupation on our soil they'd find Americans would rise up en masse and repel such intruders with the most vicious acts of terrorism ever seen, essentially makin what goes on in the middle east look like the actions of amateurish choir boys in comparison nerd

What I think a major problem is with our policy overseas is not the wars we fight but the rebuilding afterwards. Maybe we should just leave after the war is over and not stay there to rebuild the country and give it back to them. If we don't want to keep the countries then we should just leave when we are done and let them fend for themselves.
