Thinking a crisis is manufactured is nothing new as well.

The only crisis is 800,000 American families not getting their paychecks, more than half of them forced to work without pay - I thought slavery was outlawed in this country.

not being prepared for the annual "shut-down" scare or no scare, is their fault.
it's kinda like living in tornado alley, and being surprised when a "nader" smokes your shit.
earthquake zone.
tsunami-laden zone.
hurricane zone.
massive raging forest fire zone.
or, god forbid, a democratic Socialist run House and Senate.

So, they can buy insurance for this? Or evacuate to a place where there pay will still come through on time?

No but they can change jobs and with our unemployment so low it would be easy.

A lot of them get all the back pay when it's over. So, it is kind of a paid vacation. And yeah, they should also be prepared. I haven't had time to check to see if ALL of them get back pay.

I suppose that's one way of cutting the federal budget - payroll will go down because no one will want to work there, particularly in jobs where they're required to work without pay during shutdowns. Have fun catching a flight when that happens.
