I just went to Ebay and looked this is crazy. People are paying more then what they could go to Amazon and get their own gift card for. People are nuts some are saving 40 cents.

There's an auction site I use that is run by an online retailer, and some of the higher-end items routinely get bid higher than they could just click over to the retail site and buy the item outright. Part of it might be chalked up to sloppy research and operator error, they either don't know they're over-bidding or they just clicked the wrong maximum bid, but I think a lot of it is just getting caught up in the competitive feeding frenzy. Whatever the cause, it happens every damned day.

Yep, I've seen a lot of such stupidity at live auctions as well as online ones too. I guess some folks have just tooooo much money smiling bouncing smiley

Only mitigating factor I can think of is the free postage. How much would Amazon charge to post out a gift certificate?

O've bought and sold on Ebay since 1999 and never been defrauded or defrauded anyone else. One does have to read the auctions and check feedback but it is the same anywhere you purchase anything, you have to do your homework.

i've bumped heads with a couple people on "e-fraud", but the majority are reputable vendors.
