Saudia paid their protection money and they still go t hit. The only way to deal with these organizations is by the bullet and taek out any nation who supports them or give them a safe haven.

Mighty tall order there pardner. Why can't we just treat organized criminals like organized criminals? Track them down, and jail them.

Do you not see that using torture methods, and heavy handed military response is not going to mollify people. It will only reinforce the motives they have. We need to do this with honor, and not cause /our/ motives to come in doubt.

However, using indescriminate methods (Abu Ghraib, phosphorous over Fallujah, illegal cluster bombs, "depleted uranium" we dishonor the American name. Not to mention that torture invalidates any evidence, so they cannot be taken to court. I want American to be strong and well-respected. I don't see that happening. We are allowing the government to damage our name. We can't continue to move into the future alone. That is suicide.

The means ARE the ends, yo. You cannot separate the two. The way things are done, as well as the goals are key.

Those who are willing let others take from us everything that good American soldiers have fought and died for over the past 200 + years are not worthy of the good fortune they were blessed with, to be born in America.
The terrorists we are fighting don't give a damn or understand about damage to our name. The world is and always will be controlled by the aggressive use of force, no matter how much peaceniks, old hippies and the liberal left, would like it to be otherwise. Any country that believes peace can be purchased through kindness toward those that hate them, will be sadly mistaken..Tell be a country in history, where that has worked.

John-Stone. Please be civil in a war? as a soldier, I find that funny. The rule is anything goes (as long as your superiors or the press don't find out). This is not a conventional war, btw. Doubt if the terrorists would think about the Geneva Convention before applying some of their medicine on captured enemies.
