The common people, considered as the primary source of political power. 4.
Majority rule. 5. The principles of social equality and respect for the
individual within a community.

The USA constitution established a representative republic. That has gradually
eroded over time. The largest stone in the wall was the elimination of state
elections of Senators, and the direct election by "popular vote" The
next target will be elimination of the Electoral College. The US is moving
swiftly towards the anarchy known as democracy. God help us all!
