Hey 90130,do you know if there are any negative effects on a 3" swingarm extention on a zx12?High speed or handleing?

Yep, I know, as you are trying to pull it out of your ass, the little steel nibs on the upper arm get caught on the rim of you asshole. Especially when you do it fast. Don't try this at home

It will make it steer much slower, but the bike will be more predictable and stable at higher speeds. Fine if you're drag racing or hitting the salt flats, but for the most part, the stock wheelbase works fine for most conditions.

Thats not what Im looking for so theres some money saved.My goal is to tweek the bike but keep its charateristics the same.I dont really want to give up handleing but I would like a better launch.Thanks.Man I really sold the bike short it handles pretty good,kinda scary taking a big bike that low untill you try it.She actually switches direction good for a big bike,dont think Ill chase down any R-1's in the twistys but its entertaining none the less.Are these bikes supposed to be hard to start in cold weather,it starts for a second then quits four or five times.Once you rev it up on start it starts and a few twists and shes ready.

Dude,had gloves on cause it was cold and I pulled out to get moving on my zx and it freeked on me I started to speed up and it way over reved.When I tried to let up the glove made the throttle stick and I came off over the handle bars hard and the bike got minnor damage but Im ok.Ive got to make that throttle less touchy.Dude I was unconsious for about 5 minutes.From 2.75 to 3 it surges like crazy.Damn near killed myself today,spent 5 hours in the emergency room because my buddy called the ambulance.They say I tried to fight with them at first and 3 people had to tackle me.Man that shit messes with your head.

You need to have the fuel injection tweaked, sounds like your flat spot is a fuel management issue caused by that race can dangling off the back end. Get a Power commander and dial it in...and have the throttle postion sensor adjusted if its been messed with.

Thanks man,I hope this is the problem I dont like the idea of a bike being able to get away from me so fast at low rpms(accident).

Ive always wondered when it comes to extended swing arms - given the longer lever (larger swing arm ) doesnt the spring need to be changed for one with a greater spring rate, or at the very least a greater rear air shock pressure
