A while back I posted a picture of the North Head Lighthouse, a few weeks ago my girlfriend and I visited the lighthouse and were able to take a tour of the inside of it. I took this Photograph myself, it shows an area known as The Graveyard Of The Pacific. In the distance you can see the Columbia River Bar. The Strong current from the river colliding with the waves of the ocean make very treacherous sailing conditions. Almost 2,000 vessels of all types and about 700 lives have been claimed over the past 300 years.

Wow, that's a lot of shipwrecks. If it wasn't so treacherous, and if the visibility was decent, I would love to go diving there to do a little treasure hunting. (The visibility would probably be terrible though because of all the silt from the river.) Cool pic and interesting trivia. Good job. Thanks for posting this.
