*Things to do if the Police stop you* :
-Always speak respectfully.
-Don't run.
-Say: "Can I speak to my lawyer?"
-Say: "Am I under arrest?"
if the answer is 'no', or there is no answer,
Say: "Can I go now?"
-Do not consent to a search, even if they search you or your vehicle, this may protect your rights in court.
-Never act aggressively with a cop, they are trained to escalate, and can take you down everytime. Remember they have the power of the State behind them.
-Try not to answer leading questions.
-Answer questions with questions, or ask to speak to your lawyer first (even if you don't have one).

This may not stop an arrest, but at least you won't incriminate yourself, or give them useful information.

Remember, no matter who you vote for, the cops are always there.

OBEY THE LAW!

It makes it a lot less likely you will need the advice above!

WRONG!! You never say the words "can I" to a U.S. police officer for it is an open ended question and it will show the officer that you lack confidence and are not fully aware of your rights. Any request must be predicated by a "I Will"...i.e. "I will speak to my lawyer and no one else!" ... "I will leave now!" NYPD are the worst offenders of unwarranted intimidation....The truth is knowledge of your rights coupled with complete confidence will get you anywhere. Too bad all the long haired hippie protestesters getting arrested dont kno this.

Always obey the law.
Never carry anything illegal.
Always say sir or maam if stopped for any reason.
If you have nothing to hide searches are nothing.
Police red flags:
young people in sports cars.
young people with long hair and hip outfits.
unfortunately young black males are still a red flag.

older people can drive anything as long as it is the speed limit.
