Usually a VOM is held together with little screws,using a pilot bearing puller is a last resort.

Haha! That thing looks like it was probably at the end of its life anyway. And they don't call em VOMs anymore, they do more than just measure volts and ohms. They are called Digital Multi-Metters: DMM.

i found it digging for a chain i left soaking over the weekend. but of course nobody admitted to it, not that it mattered to me.
