They don't do they... nor do many other countries. How many people die from these other countries due to terrorism? Recently terrorist were caught in "Canadia" but they weren't trying to bomb them... they were trying to get into the states. hmmmm... How many people did the terrorists kill on 9/11? How many US and coalition soldiers have died so far? Are we really protecting ourselves? or giving Iraqis freedom? Why them?

Why move to a different state? None of you are in the military so you are not in danger from what this picture shows. I just wonder if any of you put your life at risk to serve your country in your pasts. The people who join the military do so knowing the possibility they may have to put their lives on the line and still they join. I commend them for that. I served my time during the Viet Nam ara knowing I could have been killed but still did it.

Protect your country or the assets of the men in power? I bet you got a big pay off after such a huge sacrifice as that, jgoins. Let´s see some pictures of your Texas ranch next door to Bush´s.

We're supporting our troops over there...so we don't have to support them over here.

I served my time, well most of it...I was discharged one month early (honorable discharge). Because of that I had to repay that per cent of my enlistment bonus, $65.00...

108181: Oh right, like Islamic fanatics are going to field a full-on army on US soil. That's a dopey argument. Sharpen up!

jgoins: I'm with zxz555 on this: These wars, so full of 'honor' and 'duty' and 'serving one's country'. That's great, I've done it, and I commend it. The troops themselves are just pawns in a Rich Man's game, however, and that is the real issue. The poor are recruited to fight, and the rich send them there.

Why the fuck are we actually in Iraq? No WMDs so far. All the terrorists that flew planes into buildings were SAUDI. Iraq had been beaten into submission with the past 12 years of weekly bombings.

Hmm.. must be something =else= .
I wonder what it is...

...perhaps Money?

Obvious to me Fossil but not to the bleeding heart liberals or the conspiracy theorists. I have said we needed to be in Iraq since 9/11.

The rich have been in control of this country and every other country since the beginning of time so what difference does it make?

my dear f_d: "Iraq...back door to Iran". Which doesn't explain why we're over there.

We can easily confront terrorist cells w/o military adventurism, with solid investigations and the courts. These men (the 9/11 hijackers and their ilk) committed crimes. Follow them as crimes. Treating them as an "act of war" plays into their hands, and gives them higher status than they deserve, AND helps recruit more. Which is exactly what our Iraq Invasion/Occupation has done... made the "War on Terror" (choke, koff) worse by recruiting moderate Islamists to the fanatical ranks. The effort can be shown to have backfired. So therefore, the WOTerror must be a lie.

jgoins-- the Rich. Just because they =have been= in control, does that make it right? Should we just throw up our hands and scurry under the nearest bush saying "its always been this way.. why change?". Should we not continue to press for Justice? You apparently say no, that's weak.

Mint: because the US owns Panama's ass. Didn't you get the memo after we fucked over Noriega? We get to keep the Canal until forever happens.

136136: let's see... the possibility of Iran having the technology to field an atomic weapon?

is that a good reason?

Anonymous@136136, your post about the rich being in control is only a bash against the current administration and has nothing to do with reality. It does not make any differecne who is in office at the time you can always complain about the rich being in control. Only a rich person can afford to run for President so this is the way it will always be. Clinton was and is rich. Reagan was rich, Carter was rich and all Presidents in recent history were rich. In this country money talk and bullshit walks. I don't have money but I have come to accept that and can work with it to my advantage. I don't have to sit around and complain about it. I just do what it takes to keep going month by month. That's life.
