Please share with others and help if you can.

On August 24, 2015, Paul, a U.S. Air Force Veteran, suffered a traumatic brain injury while riding his motorcycle. Just as he was a few weeks away from entering a training school to become a Harley Davidson mechanic he was riding alone when it appears he lost control of his own Harley while making a turn on wet pavement near his home in Charlotte County, Florida where he was a lifelong resident and graduated from Charlotte High in 2008. He was near death when surgeons opened his skull to remove a large blood clot and relieve pressure on his swollen brain. A piece of his skull was left out to allow his brain room to swell without further damaging it and he was sent to the surgical intensive care unit where he remained for one week before being sent to the Surgical Progressive Care Unit with the piece of skull still removed. Though one of his surgeons later told me that he hadn't expected Paul to survive, he has shown remarkable progress, perhaps because at the age of 25 he is young and strong and his other injuries were remarkably minor, but he has a long way to go in the recovery process which we hope will be in full despite some of the cognitive deficits he is currently showing. He has no insurance, no resources, and while he undergoes his long recovery his medical bills and living expenses are mounting quickly. Please help this young man so that he may get the best care possible and go on to live a long and productive life without the pall of this huge financial burden hanging over him. Thank you.

Why should society pay for HIS mistakes? Did he have a brain in the first place to get on a motorcycle without insurance? , did a loving parent such as your self inform him of the dangers of getting on that two-wheeled crotch-rocket?, and judging by the picture you provided, he looks like one of those thugs that likes to terrorize ordinary motorists, nothing but Darwinism at work here.

Really Woot? Why do you feel the need to be such an insensitive little twit? This is Qausi's son we are talking about. Do you tell everyone with an injured child it's their fault and that they should have done a better job protecting their kid?

Saying no one should help Paul, is basically like saying no one should help soldiers who were injured fighting in wars. After all it's their own fault because they should have known it was dangerous before going over there.

No one is forcing anyone to pay Paul's medical bills, they are just asking for help. You don't have to do anything. You didn't need to make a comment either. All it did was make you look like a complete douchebag. You are lucky you have the anonymity of the internet to hide behind because Quasi would be justified in hunting you down and beating the crap out of you for what you said.

The total lack of compassion coupled with uninformed assumptions and sweeping generalizations heralded in the comment above leave me with only one thing to say to you woot ... blow it out your ass you pitiful waste of oxygen/big balled keyboard commando.

Young people often make choices that can lead to grave consequences for those choices. I did, and surely I'm far from the only one here who could lay claim to having done so. Some of us get lucky, while others tend to fare less fortunately, but the invincibility concept of the young is a well understood phenomenon.

BTW, "society" isn't being asked for a damned thing. What is very apparent is a loving father is making a request for any support from those in a position to do so be extended to his son.

Having been following Pauls story unfolding through social media postings I know how hard his accident has been on all those in his life and havin some dip shit get on here and talk trash about the Q mans son or his plight is hardly deserved, necessary, nor humanistic.

Thanks for those of you with compassion and when I posted here I expected some trolls to show up so I'll just ignore their thoughtlessness and continue on helping my son. Things are looking good for his recovery - I spent seven hours with him yesterday and it was the first time his thoughts and actions were normal for the entire visit so it appears he may have a full, or nearly full, recovery in the works though there are still some obstacles along the way and goals to be reached.

The old adage my mother taught me always applies, if you don't have anything good to say then just say nothing.

While I am not financially able to help my prayers are with him and your family. I understand there are some here who don't believe but I will pray for it anyway and they can just call it best wishes.

Sorry so late with this. He recovered well, is his old self with the exceptions of losing his senses of taste & smell, being a little more cranky at times (though he's long been pretty cranky), and having a mountain of medical bills.
