Not really.
The bird in that position will glide.
The plane will fall to the ground like a stone. It has fuck all lift and needs thrust as all times.

That is incorrect. What creates lift is airspeed and angle of attack and all fixed wing aircraft have a glide ratio, which is probably classified for that plane. If the thrust is gone then the airspeed drops off and must be compensated by the angle of attack. Without power it will be headed down on a slope but not just fall out of the air.
