If you own a business with employees you must give those employees "health insurance" that the government tells you to....

Quote

But the faith of Green and his family stands to be penalized, not rewarded, by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services mandate that requires coverage of contraception, sterilization, and abortion-inducing drugs, with no deductibles or co-pay, in the health insurance employers provide for their workers. Green, a devout Baptist, says his Christian faith and conscience will not permit him to comply with that mandate, issued in pursuance of the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare).

Since the penalty for noncompliance is $100 per employee per day, Green, with thousands of employees nationwide, says the cost to him would be an estimated $1.3 million a day, forcing the company in short order to close its doors and go out of business. Like the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and an array of religiously affiliated schools, hospitals, and other non-profits, Hobby Lobby in September filed suit in U.S. District Court to overturn the HHS mandate. That, in turn, has inspired a backlash against the company by those who believe employees have a right to have their sex lives subsidized. A “Boycott Hobby Lobby” page soon appeared on Facebook, and the page administrator claimed it was having the desired effect.

I agree, religion is used too often as an excuse. Regardless, to me it's a case of oh well, too fucking bad. We all have to pay for things we don't agree with. That's life in the big bad world.

I hardly see someones religious preference as an excuse when they're essentially being forced, without anything but legal recourse, to comply with a law that essentially violates their religious beliefs.

I may be an atheist and totally disagree with the premise any and all religions are based upon, but I damned well respect believers rights to remain true to their belief structures all the same!

And yes it also is definitely NOT the feds business to begin with and only someone suckin heartily off the public teat could see this as anything but intrusion into business and peoples private lives in a manner they have no Constitutional right to hot smiley

Oh and BTW, if anyone remembers back to the last sniggling point in the Obozocare debate just before the Dems rammed it through congress you might remember that one of the (many false) promises made to the American people was that NO funding would be made available to anyone relating to abortion.

One of those all too inconvenient truths, yet the absolute truth regardless spinning smiley sticking its tongue out
