I've never heard of a webcam breaking.
In fact, over several hundred computers I have owned and worked on, the HDD is the only thing mechanical that has ever failed. Apart from a LAN card that switched itself to 10base permanently without telling anyone. That took a while to diagnose.

My father-in-law's webcam broke recently. It was an external USB one, but stopped functioning for no discernable reason.

My Macbook Airs over the years have had to go back several times for a HD replacement on the SSD (and the Air v1 was mechanical). Never had an issue with my multiple Dell, Toshiba or Samsung laptops over the years and if they were out of warranty it would've been piss easy to swap them anyway. Except I don't want to have to go and buy a socket set with Apple compatible screwdrivers to open the Airs...

Likewise, I had an issue recently with my Dell U2711 screen. It was replaced next day, not an issue. Didn't lose my computer, the hard drive, didn't have to back it up or anything else when it was replaced...

All in one systems make no sense to me.

I have seen just about everything that could possibly go wrong with a computer go wrong but I have been a computer tech for over 25 years so that's not surprising to me at all. I've had plenty of opportunities to screw things up too and definitely have done my share of damage. Fortunately my fix to destroy ratio has been pretty good.
