It's in NZ quasi - an island nation where (I have been told, but never had it officially confirmed) you are never more than 30km from an open body of water. Boats are everywhere, but American muscle cars are not, even "shit ass chevy's".

We're surrounded by the sea here in Florida too, hence my interest in the boat. And there are a lot of wealthy and wannabe wealthy people around here who have 'vettes and speed boats and jet skis and all that jazz. I looked up the owner's website but they had nothing about the boat on it - maybe once they put it in service.

It doesn't look to me that the car hit the boat. Close but no cigar.

I did some comparison, GAK. Florida is only 63% the size of New Zealand but has 4.3 times as many people so we have a lot of boats (and Corvettes). Most of the Florida population, particularly in the southern half of the state where I live, is near the coast with swamps, citrus groves, sugar cane fields (in the southeast), and cattle ranches making up the interior. It used to be and still may be that Florida is second only to Texas for cattle in the U.S. Also, Florida's highest point above sea level is about 105 meters versus 3754 meters for NZ - we don't even have a decent hill in this state, nevermind any mountains.

That's why my sis loves going across that big bridge that is probably the highest POV in Florida.

The Sunshine Skyway Bridge is pretty cool.

Yeah, quasi, it's sparsely populated down here. However, as a country we have one of the longest coastlines per land area, and we are near the top of the list of boat ownership per capita. Auckland, the city where I live, has the highest boat ownership per capita in the world. It's known as the City of Sails. I have not seen any comparisons to individual states though. Florida is probably high in both those measures, I'm guessing.

BTW, happy Independence Day to all you US dudes (and dudettes).
