I found it then checked a site with the same pic/game and I was right. It is really hard to see because the face isn't very clear at all but it's there.

hit a small owl the other night, just as the sun was going down, hit just above the driver side windshield...scared the hell out of me. found it the next morning on the trailer...head was bigger than a baseball but smaller than a softball...

That reminds me of one time when I was a kid. The family would occasionally make a day trip out of catching a train in Dayton, OH, about 25 miles from home, and ride to St. Louis, MO to visit some family and go up in the arch. It was a very long day trip though; we had to catch the train at like 4:30 A.M. and didn't get back to Dayton 'til about 11:30 that night so it was dark when we left and dark when we got back. So this one time on the way to the station in the A.M. we hit a bird, didn't know what it was only it was pretty big and we saw a lot of feathers (thinking it was the whole thing) fly over the windshield in the slip stream. We continued to the station, made our day trip, returned home that night, got up the next morning & went to church, and when I came out of the side door of the church at about noon ready to go home, right there parked at the curb was our Galaxie 500 with this dead owl still plastered to the grill spread eagle 32 hours after he'd breathed his last.

I had a Galaxy 500 once but it didn't come with the owl grill ornament. I've never hit an owl but have hit a few other birds. Once I had a small bird setting on the front bumper of a Subaru wagon when I stopped. Another time I was going about 50 on a 2 lane highway. There was a large seagull in the road, I tried to slow down and it heard me coming and took to flight in the same direction I was going but didn't gain enough altitude and collided with the roof of the car. Another 1" in altitude and it would've made it.

I've had close calls with buzzards that were picking over roadkill and heard of people getting broken winshields from them in that situation.

i bounced a large crane (i think) off my windshield coming back from Kim's house in the sticks last year doing 60-65 in the pitch black. i ducked thinking it was coming through the windshield, but all it did was bend the shit out of my passenger side wiper arm. i barely saw it about 50 yards ahead of me flying low to the ground (i thought my eyes were playing tricks on me in the dark), squinting to see wtf it was...then it hit.

another time years ago in the South Texas hill country i hit a deer doing 65-70 in a 1980 f-150 4x4 with the right half of the front end. it fucked the truck up big time, but did not come over the hood. WHEW!! we were going to take the deer back to camp with another guys truck and cook it up until an off duty Ranger came along and told us that it would be a $5000.00 mistake. we left the deer off the side of the road and left. we came back an hour later and it was gone. i guess that fucker got him a good cookout at his place (it was like 2 A.M.).

I don't know about Texas but in Oregon they pick up road kill deer and elk and give it to state sponsored/qualified programs for food, either for people or animals. It doesn't go to waste and nobody takes it home for themselves. Of course YOU would assume there is some sort of underhanded conspiracy-like shit going on and you might be right. Texas is "like a whole other country" after all. Maybe it should be. smiling

It is pretty much dead center in the pic where the trunk splits into branches (the whitish feathery looking blob) but it's even difficult to see at a higher resolution. I decided it was there then did a reverse image search and found I was right. It's a shitty "where is it picture" to begin with. There are much better on the same site I'm sure Skidwad found it on.
