Got plans? I envision one with a swing away tray for my laptop. And a couple of wheels & handles so it can be easily moved around like a wheelbarrow; bad back, don't ya know.

I like the swing away tray idea...this chair is made of cedar so it's actually very lightweight, and because cedar naturally resists decay and insects the stain and seal is optional..although I think they do look better with at least a sealant...
thanks Kim, my dad recently had to move to a much smaller home and he brought all his woodworking tools to me along with a huge pile of #1 cedar 1x10x6 so I thought making this chair was the least I could do for him...

I love working with cedar. It smells so good. You have to take extra care with such a soft wood as you are surely aware but it's one of my favorite woods. I've done some things with redwood which is very similar. They are related trees aren't they? You don't want to get a splinter of it in you though. Fuckin owie! Swells up real good. It's the acidic(?) resins I think, the same thing that makes it self-preserve for so long.

Nice chair too. smiling
