Bah, I wish they'd just leave it like this. Gives me an hour later to spend time out in the garden in the evenins when it counts and would be better in the winter too. Gettin dark at only 5:30 or so as it does here when they switch it back in the fall is depressing (*binladen*)

I think you're right. Just set the clocks an hour ahead and leave em that way. It would be better.

Even though we get that "extra" day every 4 years, the earth changes by 1 degree in it's rotation every year. A solar based year and the 24 hour earth rotation do not match up exactly.

I'm all for doing away with daylight savings time..it made sense when Ben Franklin came up with the idea but not today...it's just a hassle nowadays..

here's something most of you probably haven't considered; in the USA, if you have a driving job that requires you to keep a log book, you keep that book based on your home terminal time zone...so for me, wherever I went I was on Pacific time as far as my logs were concerned..(obviously you have to make the mental adjustments when making pick-ups and deliveries involving appointment times while you're in another time zone...) it always felt really weird being on the east coast, especially in the winter, look at the clock it's 2pm, look outside it's getting dark...opposite for east coast drivers on the west coast..they look at the time and it's 8:00pm and just getting dark..
