When I visited Kenya it was obvious that the black people there behaved completely different than what I was accustomed to in the US. They were normal people, just black. It was a pretty cool experience.

Used to work with a cool black dude from Kenya who told me he had nothin in common with the blacks here in the US and wouldn have anything to do with 'em. He said they were ill mannered, lazy and he wanted no part of 'em thumbs

So what you're both saying is that it's the white genes the American 'blacks' have picked up over the generations that make them the way you perceive them to be?

GAK ... hardly. I perceive it to be tied to the entitlement attitude that's been propagated by the ongoing socialist onslaught by government in our society.

The whole "you owe me somthin 'cause I'm black / I'm discriminated against 'cause I'm black " attitude that's been enabled and institutionalized here is where most of it comes from (*facepalm*)

When I was in Kenya I was in the USN in early 70s. At the time there was a lot of racial unrest in the Navy, and we all had to attend race relations classes. A lot of the black sailors were into over-doing the soul-walk crap, where it looks like you have a serious limp, and the Kenyans commented negatively about that sort of behavior. They wanted nothing to do at all with those guys. They thought they were crazy.

So you guys are finally realising it's not the colour of ones skin or genetics, it's all about behaviour.

So if it's about behaviour, it comes down to choices, and choices are individual. so you can't judge a person by their ethnicity, only by their actions? There's hope for you guys yet.

If you start thinking that about ordinary people, you might even start to think that about the current US president, or even people outside of your own country like those from the Middle East. (*finger4*)

(The above comments are made with tongue in cheek (mostly) - I know many of you hate Obama for his policies rather than his skin colour, but for some of you it's both).

Your point was rather pointed as it seemed to indicate that "you guys" are somehow less enlightened than you consider yourself to be.

Do you do that arse thing so you don't get confused or is that just a behavioral thing?

I think we all need to understand and accept the fact that human beings have a tendency to acquire prejudices. Don't let it rule you. I think a lot of us do understand and accept that and we learn to live with it and other people. Just like most of us suppress the urge to punch someone else in the face once in a while. These are good things. I think it's a hell of a lot better to joke about it than to punch faces about it.

Now what about those Scots again?

No. If that's what I was saying then that is what I would have said. BTW, American black people seem to have a lot of Native American and Hispanic blood in the mix as well. Maybe even more than Caucasian blood. Not that it means anything besides shooting holes in what you are saying and that's just for fun smiling

Blah - before you attempt to call someone stupid you should make sure the person wasn't being sarcastic, and then not make your own argument based on conjecture.
