Pfffft. I've canoed across the road in my neighborhood before and carried fish back to the canal after the water receded and left them stranded in my yard.

That's cool. It's still interesting to see salmon swimming across a road so pffft right back at you. smiling

It's obviously photoshopped,
I can tell by the ride height of the truck relative to the moon this time of year.

It's a screen shot I took of the YouBoob video. The video is better. After the truck goes past the camera there are a few more salmon scooting across the street the other direction and then a couple more going back the other way. I don't think they know where they're going, they're just going till they get there.

Are you sure they are not Snake-heads.

Snake-heads have a dorsal fin that runs the length of the back.

This was in Washington and the fish & game laws are similar to Oregon. Unless you're member of an Indian tribe the only legal way to catch salmon is with a hook and line using bait or lures. Nets, traps and even bare hands are illegal.

Maybe they are just programmed to swim against the flow, and don't understand what a flood is.
Determined fish those salmon.
I noticed bears don't waste time eating the flesh because they are only interested in the fatty parts. And with so many to choose from at spawning time why not? You could get a good feed picking up what the bears leave behind, is that legal? Or aren't bears that common that far south?

Oh yeah, plenty of bears around here. ODFW estimates 1 bear per sq mile in the wooded areas (which is most of the NW) but oddly we don't see too many out there fishing. They mostly go for landfills and garbage cans in the populated areas and they are becoming more of a nuisance. So are cougars and coyotes lately. Every year there are increasing reports of them getting into yards in the outskirts of the bigger cities. By the time the salmon are ready to spawn they are often too "red" to eat, meaning their color turns reddish and are close to expiring and the meat isn't any good at all. During migration/spawning people try to catch them as they head up stream just before they get to that "too red" point. I wouldn't want to eat a bear's leftover salmon. That's for the other wild animals, birds, coons, etc.
