[en.wikipedia.org]

I don't live in Europe. It doesn't apply.

It also makes me wonder if this is another way to get you in touch with the "FBI vs Facebook" virus lure. Aside from that, FB is bloated, broken and fucked up enough on its own without needing any outside help. So yeah, all you Euros go spam FB and make it even worse for everyone else. Makes perfect sense to me.

Better idea; get a life. Maybe even a job. Quit bothering people. There are enough problems without inventing more and especially imaginary ones.

As one less than interested in helping anyones data mining projects I never bought into the MySpace/FaceBook realms as I view these as exactly that, all neatly tucked inside peoples rampant desires to share more about themselves online than seems reasonable to just anyone on the planet with a frickin keeboard (*facepalm*)

I think that social networking serves a valid purpose but like everything else it is overdone and abused to hell and back. As my instructor for a network admin class once said, just because something is possible does not make it a good idea. That's probably the best advice I've ever heard.

Here's a little something I put on my facebunk status the other day:

Dear Facebook Dear Facebook
You bloated ass punk
I'm tired of your popups
And stupid game junk
I don't want "improvements"
And eye candy please
I'm just trying to find
My friends looking for me
Signed,
A User

Dear User Dear User
You must comprehend
That social networking sites
Are greed driven
We've got to stay current
With whistles and bells
Or our advertisers
Will say go to hell
Signed,
Dear Facebook

Over the last couple of years I've become caregiver to my mom who has senile dementia and can't function for long on her own. It's now nearly a 24/7 thing which means I can't get out much so facebook has helped fill the gap of human contact. Also it's put me back in touch with some people and makes it easier to stay in touch with distant family & friends as I'm not a phone person. It also enabled my two youngest sons to connect with their half brother from whom they were separated when they were small children. It's all about connecting with others while not giving out much information about yourself for strangers to latch on to.

Awesome Qausi. That's the good part of it and God bless you for being a good son. I hate talking on the phone. Well, not hate but I'd rather not. I use it for when it's needed. That's all.

Glad to hear your Mom's still with ya buddy and I know we both know how precious the time you're sharing can be.

Solace often finds its way into our lives through unusual methods, though at such times any such sustenance is welcomed and can be a valued diversion/sanity maintaining relief mechanism at times too.

My heart goes out to you and yours buddy.
