He's showing his 3 out of 4 lady foot pry bars as he said he would. I didn't realize they were such a common tool type. I had never seen one before I found the one I have in a garage at a house I moved into years ago. I'm surprised he didn't know what it was when I posted the pic of mine asking what it's called. Or maybe he did and was just screwing around.

That's a damn HUGE pic, Fossil. What have you got for a camera? I'm no camera buff but I'd dig having a digital SLR.

Sorry, I meant I was surprised you didn't know what it was called. Now I (we both) have a name for them, which is what I was meaning to ask in the 1st place. I should be more specific in my asking and my replies.

Good god man, show some self respect and get a set of metric/standard allen sockets and a ratchet clown

I despise individual allen wrenches (hex keys to our Euro and Down Under cats and kitties) and avoid those damned cantankerous things at all costs, which sadly isn't always possible (throwup)

I remember seeing these used by high steel construction workers for aligning the I beams before riveting.

i have a full set of allen sockets also already set up with their own individual ratchets, but the majority of the time i need the reach of an individual. grinning smiley

WTF difference does it make to you where Digger got his camera? If he shopped around and had some money left over for beer that's a plus these days. Fucking shopping snobs...

I shop at Wal Mart a lot because in my normal travels its the only place of it's type that I drive right past all the time. I save fuel by going out of my way as little as possible and avoiding extra trips. There is a grocery nearby at which I take advantage of specials, but often the Wal Mart normal grocery prices are still better than the grocery specials. I don't like the amount of foreign made products at Wal Mart but they do employ a huge number of my countrymen & women in their stores.

The way I see it the money is all going into the "big money machine" anyway. A lot of local folks have eh, ok jobs at WM too. Beats being unemployed like 9-10% are. Get past 45 and see what kinda job you can get now days. If you're male and over 50 fucking forget it. Kids and women get the jobs. They don't want to pay for your experience.

I fail to see how that differs greatly from other employers. If you researched any major retailer you'd probably find the same kinds of horror stories. Management has never given a rat's ass about the welfare of workers. If you boycotted every place of business that abused employees you'd never shop anywhere larger than a mom & pop store and even some of those are not above reproach. I know a family owned hardware store in a town of less than 2100 people that treats employees like dog shit. Employees either get shit-canned for no reason or quit and employee turnover is incredibly high for a store that employs only a handful of people and none of them full time. While this may seem anecdotal I'd be willing to bet it's a lot more common than most realize.

Back in my younger days jobs were a dime a dozen and unemployment was almost nonexistent so employers had to treat their people good to keep them from quitting. Now with unemployment as high as it is employee can do whatever they want to knowing that if employees quit there hundreds waiting in line for the job. There may be a handful of businesses who treat their employees good but I am sure they are microscopic. I keep telling my kids, when they have a job, hold on to it because it will be difficult to get another. Nowadays you have to do what I never had to do in my younger days to keep your job, you have to kiss ass to hold on to the job. Unfortunately my kids never listen and now I have dead-beat son-in-law who hasn't worked in over 2 years. My daughter has to work her butt off at McDonalds just to try and keep roof over their heads claiming she likes it that way.

As one who'd rather go hungry than suck up to the typical dumbass foreman/supervisor and having played the corporate game from the inside in administration for several years too, the politics and constantly bein bent over by the higher ups involved in being in that part of the workin world turned my stomach too.

Nowadays, runnin my own one man show has its own unique challenges and pitfalls, but I absolutely abhor the idea of ever havin to work for anyone but myself ever again up
yours

I have no idea WTF is goin on with the huge numbers of men now layin about while their women go out and bring home the bacon, nor do I understand how in the world they can even justify that behavior but it's damned sure way too common these days (*horse*)

I wish I had enough business smarts to work for myself.

I mostly agree with you on the couch potato men but there are some real reasons why so many men are unemployed. Kids and women earn less so are a cheaper labor force.

What is worse is that my daughter had a major accident a couple of years ago which damaged her back and standing on her feet all day is torture for her. He claims his past felony conviction along with hid broken foot which healed over a year ago prevents him from getting a job. His statement to me when they got married was "I will do anything it takes to support my family.". Yeah, right.(*facepalm*)
