Miami
, FL, United States (AHN) – Due to the unseasonably near-freezing temperatures in South Florida, the fabled Kamikaze iguanas have been taking nose dives from their homes high atop the trees, according to reports.

Iguanas are accustomed to tropic temperatures in the 80s and 90s, but when the thermometer dips well into the 30s these particular lizards turn suicidal – so to speak – and shut down, leaving them paralyzed, plummeting from the trees, according to experts.

Experts said when the temperature rises about 40 degrees the animals will come out of their hibernation, according to reports.

The lizards are not indigenous to South Florida, but to South America, and were introduced by irresponsible pet owners, reports said.

Experts said they expect most of them to survive and awaken from their comatose state once temperatures warm up, according to reports.

I saw one one story that some guy was driving around collecting them (who knows why) and putting them in his station wagon. Well once inside the warm car they all started waking up and suddenly they are coming over the seat onto his back. Apparently he came close to having an accident. Moron smiling
