Yup, more of everyone's high opinions about America and world order, but really, in it's simplest form this is a human tragedy. Think about the poor people suffering through this and whatever is going down in Iraq.

You polute the atmosphere and deny responsibility, deny the very existence of the problem. And the climate throws a hand grenade into your laps. The rich fled in their vehicles, the poor were left behind... And then they fell upon one another like wolves. This is YOUR society. This is YOUR reality. Starving people being threatened by security forces with automatic weapons. This is what it means to be an American. Compare this to victims of the tsunami - all those brown foreign people who many of you refered to as "terrorists" but were just human beings like you and me, of various religions and various cultures. Where were the looting, the violence, the rape? There wasn't any... The societies of the people who who suffered under the Tsunami were superior to yours. You people need to change before you all drown in a sea of your own self hatred.

i must be one of the few that just stops and thinks.... yeah its sad and sux that so many people were killed and lost so much due to this hurricane. but so many act as if there was no way that something like this could possibly happen. uh hello... when u are so far under sea level especially... and being basically kept dry be levees what do u really expect? i live in florida and have been through enough hurricanes... u see what it does when it is a level 1, 2, 3 but when it gets above a level 3 and u choose (like many really do) to stay @ your home rather than evacuate.. what do u really expect? i am more upset with the price gouging of the gas more than anything.

Once the dollar tanks, we'll all be in a pile of shit. I sure hope some other countries can keep the Internet going when that happens. It'll be so damn useful.
